Frequently asked questions.
Comprehensive, plain-language answers regarding luxury watch and fine jewelry collateral loans, valuation methodology, vault custody, and repayment terms.
General Overview
Core principles of asset-backed luxury lending, ownership retention, and discrete borrowing.
A collateral loan is an asset-backed financing agreement where liquid capital is provided against the appraised wholesale market value of your luxury watch or fine jewelry. Because the loan is secured solely by the physical asset, qualification is based entirely on the collateral's authenticity and value rather than your credit score, income, or employment history.
Eligibility & Collateral
Accepted luxury watch brands, fine jewelry makers, natural diamonds, and condition standards.
We accept authentic mechanical and horological references from leading manufactures including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Cartier, Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange & Söhne, F.P. Journe, Omega, IWC, and Breitling. Both modern sports models and collectible vintage references in good working order are eligible.
Valuation & Offer
How secondary wholesale comps, XRF metal testing, and diagnostic appraisals establish borrowing power.
Valuation is established by senior horologists and GIA gemologists benchmarking against live secondary wholesale market trading exchanges, dealer-to-dealer networks, and recent verified auction results. We evaluate reference desirability, physical condition, mechanical health, completeness, and current market liquidity.
Rates, Fees & Repayment
Itemized monthly interest, APR disclosures, zero hidden fees, early payoff, and renewal options.
Interest is calculated as simple monthly interest based strictly on the deployed principal balance and the exact number of days your loan remains active. Every offer includes a plain-language term sheet clearly itemizing the monthly rate and annualized percentage rate (APR) with zero hidden multipliers.
Credit Checks & Identity
Zero credit bureau inquiries, complete FICO protection, and simple KYC identity verification.
Never. Vaultmark loans are 100% asset-backed. We do not pull credit reports from Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion, and we never report payment performance or loan existence to any consumer or commercial credit agencies.
Shipping, Storage & Insurance
Armored logistics, Lloyd's of London coverage, Class 3 UL vault storage, and dual-custody seals.
We provide prepaid overnight priority shipping labels through specialized armored transport carriers (including Brink's, Malca-Amit, or insured priority express). Packages travel with discreet, unbranded security packaging and internal tracking numbers to eliminate courier profiling.
Funding & Timing
Initial quote turnarounds, laboratory appraisal times, and same-day Federal Reserve wire transfers.
Online preliminary estimates are issued within 2 to 4 business hours of digital inquiry. Our underwriting team provides an indicative valuation range, maximum LTV, and estimated capital availability in writing.
Default & Collateral Return
Non-recourse legal protections, surplus return guarantee, and insured collateral return delivery.
Non-recourse means the physical collateral serves as the sole financial security for the loan. If you choose not to settle the balance, Vaultmark cannot pursue you personally, cannot file lawsuits or liens against other assets, cannot contact collection agencies, and cannot report negative marks to credit bureaus.
Privacy & Data Handling
Client non-disclosure agreements, bank-grade encryption, and private record retention policies.
Discretion is our foundational principle. All transactions are treated under strict private banking standards with 256-bit TLS encryption, role-based access controls, and comprehensive employee non-disclosure agreements.
